Wild Mountain Thyme
“Wild Mountain Thyme” (AKA “Purple Heather” or “Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?“) is a folk song written by Francis McPeake. The lyrics and melody are a variant of the song “The Braes of Balquhither” by Scottish poet Robert Tannahill.

July 31, 2020I have this song on a CD and I really love it. It took me a while to find this that you have provided here. I tried picking it out on the piano from the Youtube performance by Kate Rusby, but this is in a much easier key.
My granddaughter and I get together once a week, her on her violin and myself on the piano. We are wearing masks and self distancing, but this gives me so much joy that we can play music together. She had an Irish folk song from one of her performances and I was able to find the piano music for that and we enjoy playing it very much, but I know she will love this. These four lines of music are all we need because we both can play by ear. Could I please make a copy of these music lines?
